The Rev. Jose Poch has been the Rector of St. David’s since 1991. He was ordained a priest in 1983 after responding to God’s call on his life. He earned his M.T. from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. Under the leadership of Fr. Jose St. David’s has grown not only in the number of members but in depth of faith and is continuing to grow. His wife, Maly, is very involved in different ministries at the church including overseeing the Homeless Ministry. Fr. Jose and Maly have been married since 1976 and have two daughters, Otmara and Jaclyn, and three granddaughters.
The Rev. Steve Kennedy served as an intern at St. David’s from the summer of 2004 through March 2005 while completing his Master’s of Divinity (M. Div) degree at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena. Fr. Steve graduated with his degree in 2005. He has served as St. David’s Small Groups Coordinator since 2005. Fr. Steve was ordained to the Priesthood on July 31, 2009.
Bill Blomquist arrived at St. David’s in the Spring of 2011 from Houston, Texas. He graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1988 (Masters in Theology: Christian Formation and Discipleship) and Trinity School for the Ministry in 1991 (Dip. Anglican Studies), and ordained to the Priesthood in 1995. He is currently assisting Fr. Jose in a lay capacity as Assistant in Discipleship and has a passion to see people grow in the character of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. His interests include writing (songs and stories), reading Christian mystics, hiking, and hosting “faith tours” to holy sites in the Middle East.
Janet Palmer has worked at St. David’s Church since 1985. She began as the secretary and over time took on more responsibility serving now as our Administrator and Treasurer. She is also involved in other ministries, including Women of Light and House Church.
Darlene is the Worship Leader at St. David's. She has served in music ministry for over 15 years, garnering an appreciation for the diversity of Christian worship. Visiting St. David's in February of 2009, she fell in love with the God-centered worship, and joined the church staff in March '09. Darlene is ordained through Holy Ghost Jubilee International Ministries, a ministry that has at its heart the equipping of church leadership, as well as the building of bridges between cultures and denominations for the glory of God. She graduated from Vanguard University with a B.A., and has been in pursuit of a M.Div. at Fuller Theological Seminary.
Stephen Rometti is the assistant worship leader at St David's. He grew up in rural Northern Michigan where he first learned to play piano and viola. He continued his musical studies at Michigan State University earning a bachelor's degree in viola performance in 1996. Stephen gave his life to Christ in 1997 and sensed God calling him to ministry. In 2007, he enrolled for classes at Fuller Theological Seminary and made the big move from Michigan to California. Through his studies and relationships at Fuller, he has been both surprised and extremely grateful to find a theological and spiritual home in the Anglican tradition. He is excited to be at St. David's. Stephen currently resides in Pasadena with his wife, Lisa, and their five year-old son, Josiah.
Deborah Chase is the Outreach Coordinator at St. David’s. She has been a member of St. David’s since 1992 and it wasn’t too long before she assumed the responsibility of Head Usher. She has served as a member/Clerk of the Vestry for several terms; A team leader of the Homeless Breakfast ministry Deborah has also coordinated and led several house building trips to Mexico with Amor Ministries. She has led a house church. Currently she is the leader of the Alpha Course. She serves wherever she is needed, and with St. David’s Outreach Ministry, she most definitely will help others serve the local community and communities abroad.
Esther is the Youth leader at St. David’s. She also takes care of the Communications Ministry at St. David’s. Originally from Southern India, Esther and her husband Brainerd have been members at St. David’s since 2009. Before she moved to America in 2008, Esther taught High School English in India. Having been a volunteer leader with the youth group of her church in India, she has previous experience ministering to young people. Esther and her husband Brainerd enjoy reading, music and gorge-walking; and they wish to see many young people become zealous for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Barbara and Azalea Morales have been attending St. David’s for over ten years. Barbara and Azalea, as a Grandma-Granddaughter team, recently took charge of our nursery ministry. They both have a heart and passion for our little ones and have been involved at St. David’s in a variety way. Barbara, who we with great love and respect call "Grandma," has faithfully supported the youth and our AIDS Lunch at the USC Los Angeles County hospital. Azalea is a part of St. David’s youth group, and she attends Hart High School. She likes shopping and hanging out with Grandma, and Barbara likes hanging out with Azalea and their cats.
Barbara Thomas is Director of our Children’s Ministry programs at St. David’s Church and is responsible for the Sunday School Program and Vacation Bible School (VBS). Since 1998, when Barbara first started in this capacity, we have seen the ministry grow to become a vibrant part of our church life and seen the children increase in their love of God. She and her husband Ken have been married since 1966 and have two adult children and three grandchildren.
