Staff
The Rev. Jose Poch has been the Rector of St. David’s since 1991. He was ordained a priest in 1983 after responding to God’s call on his life. He earned his M.T. from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. Under the leadership of Fr. Jose St. David’s has grown not only in the number of members but in depth of faith and is continuing to grow. His wife, Maly, is very involved in different ministries at the church including overseeing the Homeless Ministry. Fr. Jose and Maly have been married since 1976 and have two daughters, Otmara and Jaclyn, and two granddaughters.
Diane Batham is St. David’s Worship Leader overseeing our worship team and leading the congregation in worship. She has held this position since 2005. Prior to coming on board as a staff member Diane, along with her son, have been members of St. David’s since 1999. In addition to her work here at St. David’s she is a Registered Nurse working at Kaiser Permanente Hospital.
The Rev. Deacon Steve Kennedy served as an intern at St. David’s from the summer of 2004 through March 2005 while completing his Master’s of Divinity (M. Div) degree at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena. Fr. Steve graduated with his degree in 2005. He has served as St. David’s Small Groups Coordinator since 2005. Fr. Steve was ordained to the Diaconate in 2006.
Janet Palmer has worked at St. David’s Church since 1985. She began as the secretary and over time took on more responsibility serving now as our Administrator and Treasurer. She is also involved in other ministries, including St. David’s Christian Bookstore where she volunteers as a cashier.
Barbara Thomas is Director of our Children’s Ministry programs at St. David’s Church and is responsible for the Sunday School Program and Vacation Bible School (VBS). Since 1998, when Barbara first started in this capacity, we have seen the ministry grow to become a vibrant part of our church life and seen the children increase in their love of God. Barbara also heads up our Youth Ministry which meets weekly. This ministry has also seen much growth. She and her husband Ken have been married since 1966 and have two adult children and three grandchildren.
Otmara and Jaclyn both serve here at St. David’s Church as attendants in our Nursery. Otmara has been a part of this ministry since 1994 and has become responsible for the Nursery department. She has an M.A. in social work. She and her husband Evelio have been married since 2003 and have two daughters. Jaclyn assists in the Nursery and has been doing so since 1996. She is currently working on her M.A. in social work.
